Abstract Rules and Submission Guidelines
On behalf of Prince of Songkla University Faculty of Dentistry and the IDCMR Secretariat Office welcome the submission of original contributions for oral and poster presentations at the IDCMR congress.
DEADLINE: JULY 15, 2025
Abstracts received after this date will not be considered.
INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS
Carefully read the guidelines below before submitting an abstract. Acknowledgement of the receipt of your submission will be sent to the corresponding author’s e-mail address immediately upon submission and the submission status will appear on the IDCMR congress website.
If you do not receive the confirmation e-mail, please do not submit the abstract again, instead please contact the presentation chair at the following email: [email protected] or [email protected].
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
ABSTRACT LANGUAGE AND LENGTH
Abstracts and presentations must be written in English. Use Times New Roman typeface (12 point regular) throughout.
The maximum length allowed for an abstract is approximately 250 words including blank spaces. The abstract title,
the author(s) or names of institutions are not included in the count of 250 words. Abstract titles are limited to 15 words or less and
should be entered in a title case format. In general, you should capitalize the first letter of each word unless it is a preposition or articles.
Each authors (first name and last name) plus institution or affiliation should be listed in the proper order.
One person must be identified as the presenting author by using the star (*).
ABSTRACT STRUCTURE AND CONTENT
In order to make the abstract as informative as possible, please include a brief statement of the objective of the study and/or the underlying hypotheses,
the method used, the results observed, and the conclusions based upon the results.
It is inadequate to state “The results will be discussed” or “The data will be presented”.
You should subtitle the paragraphs in the following order: Introduction, Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
The abstract text should be printed in sentence case. Trade names should not be presented in abstract.
References, credits or the authors’ academic degrees or grant support are not to be included in the abstract body.
Standard abbreviations may be employed in the text. Place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full wording at
the first time it appears in the body of the text. Company names are not allowed in the title but can be named in the authors’ affiliation.
Consent for publication of individual patient data - applies to abstracts with identifiable patient information
For the publication of an abstract that contains identifiable information about patients,
it is necessary that patients have given consent for the research to be published.
For all abstracts that include identifiable patient details (e.g. gender, age, illness, location) or images,
written informed consent for the publication of these must be obtained from the patient (or their parent or legal guardian).
It is the author’s responsibility to obtain written informed consent for publication of clinical details and/or
clinical images from the patient/parent/guardian/relative of the patient.
A respective statement needs to be included in the abstract text.
SCIENTIFIC GROUPS All abstracts must be submitted to an appropriate scientific group category for review based on the scientific content of the abstract. For the IDCMR congress, three submission categories are listed below:
DUPLICATION OF PUBLICATIONS
IDCMR does not accept re-submissions; abstracts must correspond to original, previously unpublished work.
By submitting an abstract, the author confirms that the abstract was not presented/published at another meeting,
and that the full paper was neither submitted not published.
DECLARATION OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST
IDCMR is committed to ensuring the integrity of its scientific, educational, and research programs.
Abstract submission requires disclosure of any financial or other interest that might be construed as resulting in an actual,
potential, or apparent conflict. The submitter is responsible for obtaining disclosure information from all co-authors,
to be entered in the author section of the submission page.
PRESENTATION FORMATS AND ABSTRACT TOPICS
Accepted abstracts selected by expert reviewers will be presented in any of the following sessions: Oral Presentation Sessions,
Poster Presentation Sessions. Authors are allowed to indicate their choice of preferred type of presentation in the provided space.
In addition, authors should indicate if they are interested to participate in the competition.
Please note that the final decisions regarding the allocation and the type of presentation of the submitted abstract will be made by
the scientific program committee. It is the author’s responsibility to submit a correct abstract. Any errors in spelling,
grammar or scientific fact will be reproduced as typed by the author as no editing will be done by IDCMR.
ABSTRACT PRESENTATIONS
The accepted abstracts will be presented in two formats: Oral Abstract Sessions and Poster Discussion Sessions.
All presenting authors will receive detailed guidelines as soon as their abstract has been accepted.
ORAL PRESENTATION SESSION
The Oral Presentation Sessions (OPS) consist of presentations of 10 minutes each and each followed by four minutes for discussion.
The sessions are introduced by a session chair. As presenter you are required to prepare a PowerPoint presentation
featuring the main findings of your work and all presentations must be uploaded to the main laptop of the
IDCMR congress before the assigned oral presentation session. All oral presentations are subjected to the Oral Presentation Competition.
POSTER PRESENTATION SESSION
The Poster Presentation Session (PPS) will take place in the designated areas where you will present your work in a poster form.
Each poster will be allocated a standard board. The physical dimensions of the standard poster display board will be 100 cm wide and 250 cm high,
being presented in a vertical position. It is advised that actual usage area of the poster display board must be about 80 x 120 cm ,
leaving the lower area of the board approximately 50 cm from the floor unused.
Your reference code number will be marked on the board for setting up your poster. A poster should be self‐explanatory,
clear and specific, and presents the material logically and legible. The title should be completed in a line and on the top of the poster,
followed by the author(s) and affiliation. Illustrations, charts, graphs and photographs used may be similar to those used in making slides,
although the lettering should be large and easy to read, approximately 1.0 cm high .
NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE
Notifications of acceptance or rejection of the abstracts from the regular submission will be emailed on or about August 15, 2025.
With the notification of acceptance, abstract presenters will be informed about the time and date of their presentation,
and are asked to reconfirm their attendance. IDCMR cannot guarantee that presenting authors who do not show up to present their
abstract during the session will be accepted for abstract presentations at future IDCMR congress
REGISTRATION AND PUBLICATION OF ABSTRACTS
The presenting author of an abstract must register for the IDCMR congress by August 21, 2025 for early registration deadline and
September 24, 2025 for regular registration deadline. The registration fee will not be refunded if the abstract is rejected.
Accepted abstracts will be published on the Conference Abstract Book.
WITHDRAWAL OF ABSTRACTS
You may withdraw your abstract at any time until July 15, 2025 by sending a request to IDCMR chair at the following
email: [email protected] Failure to follow the above procedure may result in not being allowed to present at a future IDCMR meeting.
